Eden Prairie Wrestling

Dare to Soar...Be the Eagle!!!

Our goal at Eden Prairie Takedown Association is to provide an environment that is committed to providing quality instruction in teaching the fundamental techniques of Folk-style/Freestyle/Greco wrestling in a positive and encouraging manner, while instilling the principles of good sportsmanship, teamwork, as well as prepare and challenge all wrestlers and parents alike for competition.

We believe in using the sport of wrestling as a tool to impact the lives of children.  Our plan is to instill the following values in your children: a hard work ethic, self-esteem, confidence, determination, commitment, integrity, loyalty, respect, desire, dedication, health living and good sportsmanship. If we can teach your children these values, we firmly believe their successes will not only be measured on the mat but in their lives as well. We are not just trying to develop great wrestlers but also “Great People”.  The Eden Prairie Takedown Association promotes a unified wrestling community for children grades Pre-K through 6, in conjunction with the CMS and EPHS wrestling programs.

Our Eden Prairie Wrestling coaching staff is dedicated to developing a love and appreciation of wrestling in the Eden Prairie youth with the goal of increasing their overall athletic abilities and imparting the life lessons that wrestling teaches like no other sport. We strive to do this in an environment which is positive in nature, offers family participation, and places a priority on maintaining our values. By providing these opportunities to our members, we feel we are helping to prepare them to be successful in life.

We seek to compete at the highest levels in the sport and therefore require our members to accept a challenging training regimen, so they may be successful on the mat.

EPTA Philosophy:

Our approach is creating a positive, encouraging environment by stressing fundamentals, accountability and discipline in order to bring our team together in a way that bonds them with each other and the coaching staff.  We will push our kids to wrestle to their potential, have the best sportsmanship reputation in the MN/USA wrestling and to have loads of fun. We believe wrestling teaches character lessons that will be beneficial through high school and adult years.
